3. From 01 July 2008, to get registered with the EFA, all horse must have a microchip meeting AS 5018/5019 inserted.
If you want to compete in "official" or "graded" competitions you will need to register your horse. All horses in NSW have a lifetime registration and are able to compete throughout Australia. If you are a senior, junior or corporate member a performance card can be purchased for the horse upon registration, this is basically a "licence" to compete in your chosen discipline, you can have multiple cards if you have a multi-talented equine! Although your horse will be registered for life, along with your membership, the performance cards need to be renewed annually for a minimal cost.
